Admissions in WCSC would begin next month, says Dikshit
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today stated that admissions in World Class Skill Centre (WCSC) in Delhi would commence from the next month. The Centre would start functioning from its camp site at ITI Vivek Vihar wherein total 320 students in two streams . Hospitality Operations and Retail Merchandizing would be offered admission. It may be recalled that the city government in order to address the shortage of skilled manpower decided to com- mission an ambitious green field project to develop a WCSC at Jaunapur with collaboration of Singapore government.
The institute ultimately would provide skill development training to 10,000 students per year. She expressed confidence that the Institute would prove to be a centre of excellence in the field of skill development and would enhance employability of the youth.
She expressed these views in a function organized at Dwarka to inaugurate two new buildings of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector 5& Kendriya Vidyalaya Sector-12.
Dikshit along with Union MoS(HRD) and Co-Chairperson Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan Jitin Prasad inaugurated the buildings.
Dikshit said that it is a matter of great satisfaction that the two new buildings are being commissioned in the Golden Jubilee of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
She stated that Dwarka is bound to become a hub of higher education as it is already housing Guru Gobind Singh I.P. University, National School of Law University, a campus of Ambedkar University and Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology.
