Ad­mis­sions in WCSC would be­gin next month, says Dik­shit

Delhi Chief Min­is­ter Sheila Dik­shit to­day stated that ad­mis­sions in World Class Skill Cen­tre (WCSC) in Delhi would com­mence from the next month. The Cen­tre would start func­tion­ing from its camp site at ITI Vivek Vi­har wherein to­tal 320 stu­dents in two streams . Hos­pi­tal­ity Op­er­a­tions and Re­tail Mer­chan­diz­ing would be of­fered ad­mis­sion. It may be re­called that the city govern­ment in or­der to ad­dress the short­age of skilled man­power de­cided to com- mis­sion an am­bi­tious green field pro­ject to de­velop a WCSC at Jau­na­pur with col­lab­o­ra­tion of Sin­ga­pore govern­ment.

The in­sti­tute ul­ti­mately would pro­vide skill de­vel­op­ment train­ing to 10,000 stu­dents per year. She ex­pressed con­fi­dence that the In­sti­tute would prove to be a cen­tre of ex­cel­lence in the field of skill de­vel­op­ment and would en­hance em­ploy­a­bil­ity of the youth.

She ex­pressed th­ese views in a func­tion or­ga­nized at Dwarka to in­au­gu­rate two new build­ings of Ken­driya Vidyalaya Sec­tor 5& Ken­driya Vidyalaya Sec­tor-12.

Dik­shit along with Union MoS(HRD) and Co-Chair­per­son Ken­driya Vidyalaya Sangthan Jitin Prasad in­au­gu­rated the build­ings.

Dik­shit said that it is a mat­ter of great sat­is­fac­tion that the two new build­ings are be­ing com­mis­sioned in the Golden Ju­bilee of Ken­driya Vidyalaya San­gathan.

She stated that Dwarka is bound to be­come a hub of higher ed­u­ca­tion as it is al­ready hous­ing Guru Gobind Singh I.P. Univer­sity, National School of Law Univer­sity, a cam­pus of Ambed­kar Univer­sity and Ne­taji Sub­hash In­sti­tute of Tech­nol­ogy.
