‘Va­cant posts of judges to be filled soon’

VA­CANT posts of judges in the coun­try will be filled shortly and the process for the same has al­ready started, Law Min­is­ter Ravi Shankar Prasad said here to­day.

Fol­low­ing his meet­ing with a del­e­ga­tion of ad­vo­cates here, Prasad told re­porters that va­can­cies in judges' posts would soon be filled.

Prasad, also the Min­is­ter of Com­mu­ni­ca­tions and In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy, said that he had given in­struc­tions for im­prove­ments to be in­tro­duced in the tele­com ser­vices. He also hinted that post of­fices were be­ing read­ied to en­ter bank­ing ser­vices.

"For pro­mot­ing tele­com ser­vices in the ru­ral ar­eas, op­ti­cal fi­bre ca­bles are be­ing laid," Prasad told re­porters here.

Re­fer­ring to the Naren­dra Modi govern­ment's plan to clean up the Ganga, Prasad said that at­ten­tion would also be de­voted to the health of the Ya­muna river.

Prasad also met Sri­vatsa Goswami, an author­ity of Vraj cul­ture and a Ma­hant of Radha Ra­man tem­ple in Vrind­a­ban, on Satur­day evening.—
