Patiala House Court to get new ad­dress soon

PATIALA House district court, cur­rently housed in the erst­while palace of the Ma­haraja of Patiala near In­dia Gate in Cen­tral Delhi, will soon have a new ad­dress.

The PWD of Delhi Govern­ment has started the process of con­struct­ing a swanky 8-storey build­ing at the Deen Dayal Upad­hyay Marg, where the district court will be shifted.

Of­fi­cial also said that the new court premises will have dou­ble base­ment park­ing with a capic­ity of around 823 cars over eight floors and will be built at a cost of Rs 306 crore.

"The new Court will have 41 courts. Be­sides, it will have an au­di­to­rium with a capic­ity of 200 peo­ple and sep­a­rate move­ment for judges, lawyers, lit­i­gants and con­victs," the of­fi­cial also said.

Ac­cord­ing to PWD, the new build­ing will also have an open hall mea­sur­ing around 3500 sqm for the lawyers' cham­bers and other fa­cil­i­ties.

"As per project's plan, there will be a space for bank, post of­fice, ATMs, stamp ven­dors, li­brary, food court, lunch rooms at ev­ery floor in new build­ing and ad­min­is­tra­tive blocks will also be con­structed," he added.
