Stud­ies by in­de­pen­dent fi­nan­cial an­a­lysts show that pub­licly traded ‘100 Best Com­pa­nies to Work For’ con­sis­tently out­per­form ma­jor stock in­dices by a fac­tor of 2*. This points to the fact that com­pa­nies that aim at high per­for­mance can­not af­ford to ig­nore mea­sur­ing em­ployee hap­pi­ness. Tech­no­log­i­cal ad­vance­ments have now made mea­sur­ing this key met­ric all the more eas­ier and ac­cu­rate.

Tech­nol­ogy has changed the way we live our lives. With each pass­ing day, there is some new change we have to adapt to, and ac­cept as a norm. We are de­pen­dent on our com­put­ers to get our work done. Even op­er­a­tions that have tra­di­tion­ally re­quired hu­man interaction, paper work, anal­y­sis, and num­ber crunch­ing, have even­tu­ally moved to­wards dig­i­tal tech­nol­ogy.

As a func­tion, hu­man re­sources has qui­etly and unas­sum­ingly trans­formed it­self to bet­ter our work lives.
