José Esteves and Fran­cisco J López Lu­bián, IE Busi­ness School, ex­plain why the eco­nomic value of a com­pany is in­trin­si­cally linked to its in­no­va­tion ca­pa­bil­i­ties.

José Esteves is Pro­fes­sor of In­for­ma­tion Sys­tems at IE Busi­ness School in Madrid. He has a wealth of ex­pe­ri­ence in the cor­po­rate world as an in­for­ma­tion sys­tem an­a­lyst and con­sul­tant for com­pa­nies such as Ciba-Geigy and Sonae Group. He has been in­cluded in the 2017 Thinkers50 Radar list of the 30 man­age­ment thinkers most likely to shape the fu­ture of man­ag­ing and lead­ing or­ga­ni­za­tions.

Fran­cisco J López Lu­bián is Pro­fes­sor and Head of the Area of Fi­nance at IE Busi­ness School in Madrid, and an ex­pert in fi­nan­cial val­u­a­tion and anal­y­sis. He com­bines his teach­ing ca­reer with an in­tense ca­reer in busi­ness as a fi­nan­cial an­a­lyst at Hewlett-Packard among other rel­e­vant com­pa­nies. He is a pro­lific au­thor with seven­teen books in his back­ground and a reg­u­lar con­trib­u­tor to lead­ing news­pa­pers in­clud­ing the Fi­nan­cial Times.
