The Smart Manager - - Hr -

Business cycle stage 01 Favorable business cycle The repository of talented employees is higher than the non-talented employees.

Business cycle stage 02 Challenging business cycle Talented employees does not leave the organization for other bigger/ better Indian IT firms as the new compensation policy satisfies the talented pool of employees. Since there is a freeze in recruitment in the small IT firms, the level of talented to non-talented employees remains more or less similar to stage 01.

Business cycle stage 03 Again in the next favorable business cycle, talented employees continue to remain in the organization rather than opting for other bigger/better Indian IT firms as the new compensation policy satisfies the talented pool of employees. In favorable business condition, recruitment starts in the small-sized Indian IT firms. Since there is a good level of talented employees relative to non-talented employees in the organization most of the new recruits who get added in the workforce is, in this case, talented. This further maintains the proportion of talented employees in the small Indian IT firms.

Business cycle stage 04 Again in the next challenging business cycle talented employees continue to remain in the organization rather than opting for other bigger/better Indian IT firms as the new compensation policy satisfies the talented pool of employees. Again in the challenging business condition, recruitment freezes in the small-sized Indian IT firms. But in this case and stage the level of talented employees to non-talented employees in the organization remains constant, and thus, overall by this stage, the talent pool does not deteriorate in the organization.
