Homeopa­thy doc held for rap­ing nurse

Thane: A home­opath was ar­rested on Fri­day fol­low­ing a com­plaint of rape and ha­rass­ment by a 22-year old woman who was em­ployed with him as a nurse for the past five years. The po­lice ar­rested Sa­he­blal Ya­dav late on Fri­day af­ter the woman reg­is­tered an FIR, ac­cus­ing him of rap­ing her re­peat­edly since 2012.

“The woman al­leged she met Ya­dav in July 2012. The home­opath of­fered her a job as a nurse in his clinic,” in­spec­tor Su­nil Pand­harkar said. The vic­tim al­leged Ya­dav touched her in­ap­pro­pri­ately. If she re­sisted his ad­vances, he would threaten her with dire con­se­quences.”

She said she got mar­ried in 2014 and quit her job, but Ya­dav was re­port­edly so ob­sessed that he would call her re­peat­edly, lead­ing to fric­tion in her mar­i­tal life. In fact, her hus­band fi­nally asked for di­vorce and she was forced to leave with her three-yearold son.— Avani Ghangurde
