Lankesh killing: Bengaluru team visits Kolhapur
Kolhapur: A team of Karnataka police probing Gauri Lankesh murder case visited Kolhapur on Friday to gather details on the rationalist Govind Pansare murder case. According to police sources, there is similarity between the modus operandi and type of pistol used in the murder of Pansare, Kannada research scholar MM Kalburgi and Lankesh.
Lankesh was shot dead in Bengaluru on September 5. The four-member team met the investigating officers of the Rajarampuri police station, where the Pansare murder case has been registered. A senior officer of the Kolhapur police said the team took details about how Pansare was attacked, the chain of events following the incident, status of the investigation and how two suspects were arrested.
“The modus operandi in the murder of rationalist Narendra Dabholkar, Pansare, Kalburgi and Lankesh is the same and all were attacked by pistols. There are striking similarities between the pistols used in all these incidents. The Karnataka police are trying to find the link that might lead to the killers of Lankesh,” he said.
