Child sex abuse charges baseless: School trustee

Mumbai: A sessions judge on Tuesday remanded a trustee of a school in the western suburbs in judicial custody till November 24, in a case of alleged sexual assault on a minor.
The MIDC police had arrested the 57-year-old school trustee on November 7, after the child’s parents filed a case. The parents alleged that the trustee, a foreigner, who had founded the school in 2000, had sexually assaulted their daughter on the school premises earlier this year. The FIR named another person, a class teacher, as an accused. The trustee was produced before the Dindoshi special judge A D Deo who hears cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
He stood quietly, barefoot, while the police officer informed the court that the probe was still on. His wife stood behind him. The trustee, who has been living in India for about 25 years, told TOI: “The accusations are baseless. I came back from France knowing I might get arrested, I came to clear my name.
