An­other biker hurt on bumpy San­pada fly­over

Navi Mum­bai/Kalyan: A biker, Arun Dubey (39), lost con­trol and crashed into a di­vider due to bumps on a San­pada fly­over while trav­el­ling from Vashi to­ward Be­la­pur at 4am on Fri­day. He sus­tained griev­ous in­juries and has been ad­mit­ted to Dr DY Patil hos­pi­tal in Nerul.

Mean­while, an­gered by re­peated pothole-re­lated ac­ci­dents in Kalyan, cit­i­zens protested by dis­tribut­ing sugar to civic of­fi­cials and vis­i­tors to the KDMC head­quar­ters, claim­ing they were lucky to have reached the of­fice with­out suf­fer­ing in­juries dueo to pot­holes. KDMC com­mis­sioner Govind Bodke has given se­nior of­fi­cials two days to come up with ward-wise fig­ures of pot­holes and fill them. Bodke told TOI, “We are tak­ing all steps so that pot­holes are filled as soon as pos­si­ble.”

On June 5, Aarav Atrale (8) died af­ter be­ing run over by a truck on Agra Road af­ter he was thrown off his fa­ther’s mo­tor­cy­cle due to a pothole. On July 5, Sudhakar Lokhande (67) frac­tured his hand af­ter his scooter skid­ded due to pothole in Mi­lap Na­gar, Dom­bivli.
