Vyapam scam trail leads CBI to MP univ
Bhopal: CBI which registered 29 FIRs in Vyapam case till Saturday, has zeroed in on Rajiv Gandhi Technical University (RGTV) campus in search of links left unexplored by the special task force. This followed inputs that a person who allegedly mediated between scam suspects — Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, mining baron Sudhir Sharma and Vyapam’s exam controller Pankaj Trivedi — is holding a key position in the university.
CBI’s first FIR in the scam names RGTU’s former exam controller Sudhir Bhadoria, who is now director of RGTUaffiliated SGSITS College, Indore. Speaking to TOI, an officer said, “Who introduced Pankaj Trivedi to governor and why? The governor had no official business with the board, so links have to be probed to get to the root of the scam.” While CBI officials refused to comment, insiders say the agency has come across documents from the STF, including a copy of Sudhir Sharma’s memorandum which mentions the name of Pankaj Trivedi’s elder brother— Piyush, RGTU’s vice-chancellor.
