Goa oppn leader, wife booked in assets case
Panaji: Goa’s opposition leader and Congress MLA Chandrakant Kavlekar and wife Savitri were booked by the anti-corruption branch (ACB) on Saturday in Rs 4.8-crore disproportionate assets case. The ACB raided Kavlekar’s home and party office at Quepem and his commercial establishment in Margao
ACB superintendent of police Bosco George said if Kavlekar was unable to provide satisfactory answers to their questions , they would consider arresting him.
The FIR against Kavlekar has been registered under provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act while his wife—who is a director in his companies—has been booked under provisions of Indian Penal Code.
