PM to launch Bi­har projects worth 5K cr

Patna: Prime min­is­ter Naren­dra Modi will be ar­riv­ing on Satur­day to par­tic­i­pate in Patna Univer­sity (PU) cen­te­nary func­tion and will also lay the foun­da­tion of in­fra­struc­ture projects worth nearly Rs 5,000 crore at Mokama.

The PM will then fly to Mokama where he will lay foun­da­tion of four Rs 3,031-crore na­tional high­way projects and con­struc­tion of a Rs 1,161crore six-lane bridge on Ganga, be­sides sewage treat­ment plants and re­lated works in Patna worth Rs 738.04 crore.

This will be the PM’s first full-fledged of­fi­cial tour to Bi­har since the BJP joined the coali­tion. In Au­gust, Modi and CM Ni­tish Ku­mar had made an aerial sur­vey of the flood-hit dis­tricts of the state. BJP state unit chief Nityanand Rai ruled out any talks on spe­cial sta­tus to the state dur­ing the PM’s visit.
