Zuma to be fired; PIO allies raided

The Times of India (New Delhi edition) - - FRONT PAGE -

The ruling African National Congress unveiled plans on Wednesday to fire South African President Jacob Zuma through a parliamentary no-confidence vote, hours after cops raided the luxury home of his friends the Gupta brothers, Indianorigin business tycoons, as part of an anti-graft probe.

Meanwhile, Ajay and Atul, two of the three Gupta brothers, attended a Shivratri procession in their hometown Saharanpur on Tues- day, one of their cousins told TOI. They left the same day.

Wednesday’s raids mark a tightening of the net around Zuma, 75, and the political faction around him accused of milking state resources for their own ends.
