Protesting traders hand out roses

The Times of India (New Delhi edition) - - TIMES CITY -

New Delhi: Hundreds of traders from Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) association held a protest outside corporation headquarter at Civic Centre on Wednesday afternoon. With ‘My ValentineMy Shop’ banners in hand and mouth covered with black cloth, they distributed roses to people passing by the stretch and raised slogans against the on-going sealing drive.

“The traders are disturbed and losing their patience slowly as there is no response from the government,” said Praveen Khandelwal, CAIT general secretary.

However, the protest failed to get any reaction from the civic body as the office was shut due to public holiday. Khandelwal said it was unfortunate that without realising the ground realities, the sealing operations have been intensified in the city without even giving any opportunity to the traders.
