Noida: Members of the socalled ‘Gau Raksha Dal’ turned moral police on Valentine’s Day, harassing couples at various malls and parks in Noida and Greater Noida. Couples seen together were also branded “antinational” by the group.

At a park in Greater Noi- da, they forced a Nepali couple to crush roses under their feet and made them promise not to mark Valentine’s Day in future. They also filmed the episode and shared it on YouTube. Police, however, said they had not received any complaint. Men and women scurried off to avoid th- em. Some couples even pretended not to know each other.

At Samrat Mihir Bhoj Park in Greater Noida, the vigilantes “advised” couples against “celebrating Valentine’s Day”, said Ved Nagar, who described himself as president of Gau Raksha Dal.
