Manhunt in Punjab’s border districts after men in fatigues sighted
Authorities sounded high alert in Punjab’s border districts of Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Amritsar after locals in Bamiyal sector spotted two unidentified persons in Army fatigues moving close to the International Border on Sunday night. Police launched a manhunt in the villages to search for them. In the terror attacks on the Pathankot Air Force station and Dinanagar police station, attackers were in Army fatigues. Following these incidents, the Army had issued guidelines to ban sale of the combat pattern Army and BSF uniforms, shoes, and beret caps. Police arrested assistant professor Nirmala Devi of Devanga Arts College in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Monday for allegedly trying to lure students to offer sexual favours to higher officials in Madurai Kamaraj University in exchange of high scores and financial support.
