Man­hunt in Pun­jab’s border districts af­ter men in fa­tigues sighted

Au­thor­i­ties sounded high alert in Pun­jab’s border districts of Pathankot, Gur­daspur and Am­rit­sar af­ter lo­cals in Bamiyal sec­tor spot­ted two uniden­ti­fied per­sons in Army fa­tigues mov­ing close to the In­ter­na­tional Border on Sun­day night. Po­lice launched a man­hunt in the vil­lages to search for them. In the ter­ror at­tacks on the Pathankot Air Force sta­tion and Di­nana­gar po­lice sta­tion, at­tack­ers were in Army fa­tigues. Fol­low­ing these in­ci­dents, the Army had is­sued guide­lines to ban sale of the com­bat pat­tern Army and BSF uni­forms, shoes, and beret caps. Po­lice ar­rested as­sis­tant pro­fes­sor Nir­mala Devi of De­vanga Arts Col­lege in Virud­hu­na­gar district of Tamil Nadu on Mon­day for al­legedly try­ing to lure stu­dents to of­fer sex­ual favours to higher of­fi­cials in Madu­rai Ka­ma­raj Univer­sity in ex­change of high scores and fi­nan­cial sup­port.
