1st Travel Tues­day in Dubai

Travel Tues­day is a net­work­ing event where var­i­ous destinations and air­lines can meet and net­work with cor­po­rates, MICE and travel trade.

The in­au­gu­ral ses­sion will be hosted with Sin­ga­pore Tourism and Sin­ga­pore Air­lines on Oc­to­ber 17, at the Taj Ho­tel Dubai. Ac­cord­ing to the or­gan­iser of the event Ash­win Singh, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor, Plus Point, the event is setup in two seg­ments. In the first seg­ment there will be de­ci­sion mak­ers from the var­i­ous cor­po­rates and MICE or­gan­is­ers who will at­tend a pre­sen­ta­tion of the sup­port­ing des­ti­na­tion and the air­line where they will get all the in­for­ma­tion that will help them to plan for fu­ture busi­ness. In the sec­ond seg­ment there will be col­leagues from the travel trade who are ac­tively pro­mot­ing and sell­ing the sup­port­ing des­ti­na­tion.

Singh says, “One of the big­gest chal­lenge for pro­mot­ing destinations and their air­lines in a net­work­ing trade event is to achieve an ROI and un­for­tu­nately this is not hap­pen­ing. Many desti- na­tions do not have ac­cess to cor­po­rates di­rectly. Travel Tues­day had been launched to achieve that ROI and ed­u­cate the aware­ness to the cor­po­rates, MICE or­gan­is­ers and the travel trade as­so­ciates in­for­ma­tion that they do not get first hand. Many peo­ple are not even aware of a des­ti­na­tion tourism board pres­ence in the re­gion. This event will help peo­ple to un­der­stand var­i­ous destinations to plan their com­pa­nies fu­ture MICE or in­di­vid­ual travel.”

Many events are done once a month which lose out steam and oth­ers are done once ev­ery year. This event will be held once ev­ery two months on a Tues­day and will stay fo­cused on help­ing destinations and their air­lines on achiev­ing an ROI. They ex­pect all destinations and their air­lines hav­ing lo­cal of­fice based in the UAE and also those who have no pres­ence to take ad­van­tage of the Travel Tues­day event to reach out to th­ese de­ci­sion mak­ers from cor­po­rates and travel and drive more busi­ness to their re­spec­tive coun­tries.
