Uzbekistan, at a recent event held in New Delhi, announced the appointment of Eximius Business as its representation company in India. Uzbekistan received 30,000 Indians last year and this year it expects to welcome about 40,000 Indians. This was announced by Avaz D. Khodjiev, Counselor (Trade & Economic), Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He also said, “In 2009 the number of tourists was only 3000 and last year we finished with 30,000 which was an increase of 10 times.”

Khodjiev added, “The arrivals of Indians now are just two per cent but now we will have to join efforts with the tourist companies and the Ministry of Tourism of India to grow by 10 per cent in Indian arrivals by another three years.” Talking about their promotional strategies Khodjiev said that they organise promotional events every year in India trying to spread more information about the destination. They send delegation from India to show them the potential of the country.

Sandeep Bhatt, Managing Partner, Eximius Business said, “We would become the non-exclusive partner of Uzbekistan and we will do everything from visa processing to hotels and tickets for the travel agents or direct clients. But our primary focus would be mostly B2B where we would facilitate the regular travel agents. India has got about 5000 IATA agents and 15,000 non IATA agents so we would work as a bridge between them or their guests to travel to Uzbekistan.”
