Many ta taxes have been subsumed under GST and a sin single tax system will bring d down the overall cost, and eventually, this benefit will be passed on to consum consumers, believes Mayank Gr Grover, Managing Director, Your Travel Secretary. You He elab elaborates that conferences and events are going to be benefit the most by GST. Pack Package and hotel rates have lowered for travel agencies but with two options to avail credit. He says, “So it is more of a business decision on how to move further with this. However, the cascading effect of the ta tax still exists as there is no credit available on lower rate and involvement of multiple agents in a given package increases cost.” Grover further adds, “We are in touch with leadin leading associations of our industry, and working with them on how current rules in GST can be modified further in benefit of everyone. Government of India is open to receive sug suggestions and opinions from the leading players of the industry and they assured us tha that some amendments will be done in the coming time.”
