In­dian leis leisure vis­i­tors to South S Africa sur surged 21.7 per cen cent dur­ing 2016 with 95,377 In­dian vis­i­tors. Slab­ber points out that since In­di­ans are last minute book­ers, they tend to face a lack of avail­abil­ity and sea­son­ally high rates for f ho­tel rooms in top tourist ar­eas. To counter this, SA has made ef­forts to drive aware­ness awa around its pic­turesque smaller towns that are rel­a­tively un­ex­plored and con­tinue to have ho­tel rooms dur­ing the peak sea­son. “We've made great strides in po­si­tion­ing sition­ing our­selves as a world-class ad­ven­ture and hon­ey­moon des­ti­na­tion,” she adds.
