HAL Book ‘Harlow to Hawk’ released
Ata special ceremony on 15 February, HAL Chairman T Suvarna Raju formally released the book Harlow to Hawk which encapsulates history of HAL’s Aircraft Division at Bangalore from the very PC- 5A) in the early 1940s till the present, when Hindustan Aeronautics Limited have completed manufacture of several tranches of the BAE Systems Hawk advanced jet trainers. Over the past eight decades, HAL’s Aircraft Division have produced a range of fighters, nearly 1500 of which have served with the Indian Air Force. HAL’s Aircraft Division remains repository of the country’s accumulated experience and expertise in manufacturing a veritable range of aircraft types which makes it the logical centre for production of next generation combat aircraft.
The author, Pushpindar Singh, is well- known internationally for his research and writing on Indian aviation matters for over four decades, being regarded as virtual chronicler of India’s aviation history, and founder editor of the Vayu Aerospace & Defence Review, now in its 43rd year of publication.
