Su-35s for Indonesia

Indonesia and Rus­sia have signed a con­tract for 11 Sukhoi Su-35 ( Flanker-E) fight­ers, some four years af­ter the type was se­lected to re­place Northrop F-5E and F-5F Tiger II fight­ers, re­port­edly val­ued at $1.14 bil­lion. The pro­cure­ment will in­clude an un­spec­i­fied weapons pack­age and tech­nol­ogy trans­fer to en­able Indonesia to es­tab­lish a main­te­nance, re­pair and over­haul ca­pa­bil­ity for these air­craft. Rus­sia will de­liver the first two air­craft by Oc­to­ber 2018 to No.14 Squadron based at Iswahyudi Air Base in East Java.
