When Ideation studio, a turkey interior design and execution company working with multinational Brands, joined hands with Philips a new concept was born. Inspiring one to imagine beyond boundaries, there is now a great demand for skylit™ ceilings. Philips, a company that manufactures medical equipment like CT scan and other high end machines for medical purpose, had already been using this concept abroad and requested Ideation studio to develop it for Indian markets. In India it first was installed at an Army Hospital in Jalandhar and then for Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kunj. Mrs Singh, the owner of Fortis liked the concept so much that she introduced it in their flagship hospital, Fortis Gurgaon. The challenge was to manage the space at the hospital which already had a preexisting grid false ceiling, so Ideation studio developed multiple backlit acrylic boxes using LED to fit into the grid and created a delightful Skylit visual. The onsite execution of the same was finally done only in just one night without disturbing or hampering work in the Radiation Oncology department. Skylit™ Ceilings is manufactured by Ideation studio team in Delhi using normal acrylic. The acrylic boxes are made according to size of the area where it is being installed and backlit with LED’s to give the skylight effect. Extra lighting not required as it is installed in the centre
