In Ret­ro­spect: 2012

We cater to high end re­tail in the life­style seg­ment; this has been our main forte. We have not been im­pacted much by the mar­ket changes and cus­tomer needs in 2012, but we do fore­see a slow­down in 2013 due to de­lay in mall com­ple­tion time­li­ness. We have al­ways be­lieved in be­ing at the fore­front as far as tech­nol­ogy is con­cerned. To­day LED is the need of the hour and we have ag­gres­sively dived deep into the devel­op­ment of a re­li­able LED sys­tem and have al­most re­placed ev­ery­thing re­quired in life­style for­mats with LED's. This has also given us an op­por­tu­nity to ex­plore hos­pi­tal­ity and other sec­tors.

Ar­rival of FDI

FDI will def­i­nitely give op­por­tu­ni­ties for for­eign brands to in­vest in In­dia thereby giv­ing am­ple op­por­tu­ni­ties for us to grow. Com­pe­ti­tion for sur­vival for each brand will be tough and on the whole, the con­sumer will be ben­e­fited. Also, the dif­fer­ence be­tween the shop­ping ex­pe­ri­ence avail­able in In­dia and the West would nar­row down which of course is a good sign.

Look­ing Ahead: 2013

We see a lot of scope. With the grow­ing aware­ness on green tech­nol­ogy in the re­tail in­dus­try; the re­place­ment of metal halides with LED's is some­thing which has now be­come a need of the hour. Pro­duc­ing high qual­ity sus­tain­able LED sys­tem and keep­ing the price com­pet­i­tive, will be the key for growth.
