Year 2012 in ret­ro­spect and year 2013 ahead


This is­sue of VM&RD is planned as a pre­cur­sor to a the big event – In Store Asia 2013, which as you know is an an­nual plat­form that brings the re­tail fra­ter­nity to­gether to share, dis­cus and cel­e­brate suc­cesses in the past year and get in­spi­ra­tions for the year to come. Tes­ti­monies and case stud­ies of ex­cel­lence in brand ex­pe­ri­ence, re­tail de­sign and vis­ual mer­chan­dis­ing pre­sented by ac­com­plished lead­ers from suc­cess­ful na­tional and global brands and re­tail­ers set a stage for learn­ing, shar­ing and ideation for all the par­tic­i­pants. We have ded­i­cated this is­sue to cre­ate the con­text for the ex­pec­ta­tion of the re­tail in­dus­try in this event by get­ting per­sonal views from lead­ers, de­ci­sion mak­ers and in­flu­ences who im­pacted cus­tomer ex­pe­ri­ence and busi­ness in the In­dian re­tail mar­ket­place in 2012. We have also got their take on what they think would be spe­cific macro and mi­cro mar­ket dy­nam­ics in the year 2013 that would im­pact cus­tomer ex­pec­ta­tions and busi­ness strate­gies that would in­flu­ence the de­sign and de­liv­ery of cus­tomer ex­pe­ri­ence.
