6 Bal­ly­gunge Place Thali launches at Behala in Kolkata

A minimalist decor in black and white with large can­vases cap­tur­ing the vis­ual charm of the city evokes a sense of nos­tal­gia while one en­joys spe­cial Ben­gali cui­sine.


Spread over an area of 1200 sq.ft, 6 Bal­ly­gunge Place Thali opened their door at the 1st Floor of Behala A.C. Mar­ket- 21/4 Souren Roy Road, Kolkata. The brand from the house of Savourites Hos­pi­tal­ity Pvt. Ltd. as a part of their ex­pan­sion strat­egy plans to reach out to a wider range of cus­tomers started their ‘Thali’ flag­ship restau­rant in an area which is still un­tapped. Ac­cord­ing to the com­pany, cre­at­ing new foot­print by serv­ing spe­cialty Ben­gali cui­sine in a new fash­ion at an af­ford­able price is per­haps the great­est USP of the fine din­ing out­let. S. Ra­mani, Founder-Di­rec­tor of Savourites Hos­pi­tal­ity Pvt. Ltd. shares, “The 6 Bal­ly­gunge Place Thali is ap­prox­i­mately a 50 seater restau­rant. Apart from Behala soon we are com­ing up at five other lo­ca­tions within the city of Kolkata. We have iden­ti­fied space at Kasba, Shyam­bazar, San­tosh­pur and Seal­dah with the aim to spread the brand be­fore the Durga Puja. We are also try­ing to tap the North Kolkata mar­ket with an­other niche out­let as well. Af­ter con­sol­i­dat­ing the Thali out­lets in this city we plan to take it out­side West Ben­gal. Next year we are even ex­pand­ing our brand abroad.” Cre­at­ing smart space with a lo­cal touch was the de­mand of the place and it has been aptly ex­e­cuted by Ar­chi­tect Ayan Sen of Ur­ban De­signer & Plan­ner, who is also as­so­ci­ated with the de­sign of all the out­lets of this Thali food chain. In this re­gard Ayan shares, “The idea was to gen­er­ate a brand iden­tity which could be repli­cated eas­ily to all the other quick-ser­vice out­lets of 6 Bal­ly­gunge Place Thali. The white walls with beau­ti­ful mono­chrome vi­su­als de­pict­ing the land­scape of Kolkata with abun­dant light give out a feel of open­ness with­out over­pow­er­ing the prod­uct, as the decor of any place is driven by what the client has to of­fer.” Cus­tomers have demon­strated great ac­cep­tance to this con­cept at each of the Thali out­lets serv­ing the spe­cialty full course meal in a unique am­bi­ence
