Study By Janak launches flag­ship store in Lud­hi­ana


Study By Janak, the de­signer oc­ca­sion wear brand, launched a 6,000 sq.ft flag­ship store in the heart of Lud­hi­ana at Mall Road. When asked for the rea­son for fo­cus­ing on Lud­hi­ana, Manoj Mehra, Group CMD, Study By Janak, points out “Our aim was to pro­vide the same class of ser­vice and prod­ucts to the dis­cern­ing clients of Lud­hi­ana as we do in Delhi. Lud­hi­ana as a mar­ket has equal po­ten­tial like Delhi with its boom­ing in­comes and im­proved life­styles.” Study By Janak has been in the Lud­hi­ana mar­ket for the last four years in malls and MBO’s. With the ex­clu­sive flag­ship store they are now look­ing to ramp up their of­fer­ings as well as ser­vices in step with the ever grow­ing de­mand. The brand has also set up a satel­lite pro­duc­tion unit in the store to sup­port the vol­umes that are be­ing ex­pected from the ro­bust de­mand from Lud­hi­ana and satel­lite towns. “Our clients are not re­stricted within a par­tic­u­lar ge­o­graph­i­cal area- they travel a lot thus it is im­por­tant that we pro­vide them with the same level of ser­vice of what they get in our Delhi store or any store across the world. In­ter­est­ingly a lot of our clients are com­ing from the satel­lite towns as well, which we come to know with our con­stant data anal­y­sis,” adds Manoj. Manoj fur­ther adds, “We have been in the busi­ness of oc­ca­sion wear from over two decades and our core strength is cus­tomiza­tion. In Lud­hi­ana, we were ear­lier in the malls but hav­ing been in the mar­ket for a few years now, we re­al­ized that the oc­ca­sion wear shop­ping is more of high street where clients of course need to browse and make a se­lec­tion; thus we had to be in the heart of the city- Mall Road, which is the core of oc­ca­sion wear shop­ping.” The brand al­ready has five flag­ship stores in In­dia, pri­mar­ily in the NCR re­gion in cities like - Delhi (South-ex, Karol­bagh,) Gur­gaon and Pun­jab (Lud­hi­ana & Ja­land­har). “Our plans for this year are fo­cused on our cur­rent re­tail space - up­grad­ing and adding on more sq. ft, but in the next fi­nan­cial year we are look­ing at ex­pand­ing more into the North In­dian mar­ket for get­ting a strong foothold there, be­fore we go to other parts of the coun­try,” signs off Manoj
