Category : Health & Beauty - Specialty Store Project : Looks Unisex Salon, CP, New Delhi MERIT : DCA Architects

Striving to create a luxurious, modern space with a touch of opulence, DCA crafted a boutique experience for Looks Unisex Salon at Connaught Place, New Delhi. Thrilled to work at this heritage site, the design firm refurbished the space by demolishing the existing mezzanine level to double up the height offered by the building in the inner circle of Connaught Place. Customers are greeted by a long and narrow entrance, where the antique mirrored passage area is beautifully designed to retain the visitor’s interest. The passage ends with the retail units after which the styling area reveals itself. The bespoke curved reception desk sits on the left with the mirror on the side reflecting the activity all around. The styling area is floored with mystic pure vinyl which uplifts the mood by contrasting with the pure grey minimalistic walls and linear lighting. The single floor plate of 2370 sq ft, was modified and divided into styling area and a rear zone which is more formal and personal. The rear zone has a pedi spa, oil zone (skin and hair treatment sections), consultation and facial rooms. The mood board of the treatment rooms is placid and calm using the dark wooden textured vinyl and coco bole veneered furniture. The high skirting followed by the fabric layering make the space highly functional as well as very stylish. The sheer curtains add elegance to the floor while clean classical detailing of the door frames makes an impressionable statement. The styling area is lit with the minimalistic linear runs called LED Linea, while chandeliers adorn the formal areas. Accent lighting which highlights the curtain fabric was done to achieve a soft ambient light level
