Category : Best Lighting Project : The Arvind Store - Ahmedabad MERIT : Fitch & Plus Light Tech

At the Arvind Store on CG Road, Ahmedabad, the challenge with the design was to re-define what bespoke tailoring could be in the Indian market. As a result, the store sets out to bring bespoke fashion to the masses seeking a look and feel of international style. The store design has been planned in such a way that it redefines the customer experience. This has been achieved through two key objectives: the store now sells more fabric as per customer requirement and furthermore converts that into suits made by the in-house tailors.

Lighting has played a major role in this store. The lighting strategy adopted has most effectively injected the desired mood into the customer’s mind which is an important part of the shopping experience. The lighting philosophy for the Arvind Flagship Store is one of creating a signature ceiling plane that contributes to the look and feel of the store. The lighting partner for the concept store was Fitch and Plus Lighting.

The concept provided a sense of drama and theatre to the experience. The general illumination via bespoke strip pendant lights provided an understated general ambience. This allowed spot lights and feature lights to penetrate through the subdued lux-levels and successfully highlight interesting and important features in the store. Artemide Tolmeo task lights provided a hint of understated modernity to the tailoring table and in a subtle way added the perfect ambience of workshop activity
