VM&RD - - VM-RD RETAIL DESIGN AWARDS 2014 -

Cre­ated as a one-stop des­ti­na­tion for tiles and san­i­tary ware, Build Mart houses qual­ity im­ported tiles, mod­ern bath­room and kitchen set­tings from across the globe. For this, the com­pany re­quired the store to ex­hibit the prod­ucts in a clean and open space, where all prod­uct va­ri­eties are dis­played un­der a sin­gle room and are eas­ily ac­ces­si­ble to cus­tomers.

De­signed by Four Di­men­sions Re­tail De­sign In­dia, the store takes on a con­tem­po­rary and pre­mium look where the grey hues of the space en­hance the prod­ucts. A few ac­cent colours have been added to break the monotony es­pe­cially near the dis­cus­sion ar­eas, col­umns and on the rear walls of the store. Since the prod­ucts are very firm/ rigid, the ma­te­ri­als used in the store de­sign are kept light and smooth to main­tain a bal­ance.

De­signed to ex­hibit all prod­uct cat­e­gories, the mer­chan­dise is dis­played to en­hance the vis­i­bil­ity of each and ev­ery prod­uct so that the shop­pers can make quick de­ci­sions. The store zon­ing is self-di­rect­ing and nav­i­gat­ing, which con­nects re­lated prod­ucts to­gether to browse with ease.

While the store has a free-flow­ing lay­out, the de­sign lan­guage changes with the pre­mium prod­ucts which are dis­played in exclusive niches. Artis­tic prod­uct dis­plays are zoned and treated dif­fer­ently with a neo-con­tem­po­rary look and feel
