Kom­mal Sood launches 2nd out­let in Kolkata

Kom­mal Sood re­cently un­veiled her sec­ond re­tail show­room in the form of a shop-in-shop at the high-end Burling­tons’ store on Park Street, a prime lo­ca­tion in Kolkata. Spread over 1,000 sq.ft in the Park Man­sion build­ing, the in­te­rior de­sign of the space has been jointly con­cep­tu­al­ized by Kom­mal and Vi­noo Chadha, Ar­chi­tect, De­sign Cell and ex­e­cuted by the in-house team in three months . Kom­mal’s in­cli­na­tion for sim­ple and straight line of space in­spired her to use a com­plete white decor which gives a clear sense of ex­pan­sive­ness to the whole area. Start­ing from the white light­ing ar­range­ment and the classy chan­de­lier to the walls and fur­ni­ture, ev­ery­thing con­veys a mod­ern and min­i­mal­ist tone in the back­drop where the mer­chan­dise adds an ar­ray of colours. While speak­ing about this launch Kom­mal shares, “I mostly cater to the pre-wed­ding space and the USP of my la­bel is be­spoke tai­lor­ing. Essence of my brand is chic, young, colourful with a blend of East and West hav­ing beau­ti­ful cuts, stylish in spirit but age­less and this decor ab­so­lutely com­pli­ments the en­tire collection de­signed for to­day’s women. To­day when the cus­tomers are lit­er­ally spoilt with choices one needs to cre­ate an ex­pe­ri­ence out of the space vis­ited. We also be­lieve in keep­ing a very com­pet­i­tive price points and thus the range starts from Rs. 5,000 and the heavy wed­ding dresses goes up to Rs. 60,000.” “With the grow­ing econ­omy and ris­ing as­pi­ra­tion level, East is a very boom­ing mar­ket and I first launched my sig­na­ture store here in Kolkata at the South City Mall way back in 2008.
