Kommal Sood launches 2nd outlet in Kolkata

Kommal Sood recently unveiled her second retail showroom in the form of a shop-in-shop at the high-end Burlingtons’ store on Park Street, a prime location in Kolkata. Spread over 1,000 sq.ft in the Park Mansion building, the interior design of the space has been jointly conceptualized by Kommal and Vinoo Chadha, Architect, Design Cell and executed by the in-house team in three months . Kommal’s inclination for simple and straight line of space inspired her to use a complete white decor which gives a clear sense of expansiveness to the whole area. Starting from the white lighting arrangement and the classy chandelier to the walls and furniture, everything conveys a modern and minimalist tone in the backdrop where the merchandise adds an array of colours. While speaking about this launch Kommal shares, “I mostly cater to the pre-wedding space and the USP of my label is bespoke tailoring. Essence of my brand is chic, young, colourful with a blend of East and West having beautiful cuts, stylish in spirit but ageless and this decor absolutely compliments the entire collection designed for today’s women. Today when the customers are literally spoilt with choices one needs to create an experience out of the space visited. We also believe in keeping a very competitive price points and thus the range starts from Rs. 5,000 and the heavy wedding dresses goes up to Rs. 60,000.” “With the growing economy and rising aspiration level, East is a very booming market and I first launched my signature store here in Kolkata at the South City Mall way back in 2008. With this second outlet in the most important shopping and hangout zone of Kolkata, now we will be in a position to cater to a much wider range of populace. We are also present in New Delhi at the Meher Chand Market and my collection is present in a number of multi-designer boutiques,” signs off Kommal Sood, who launched her own label in 2005
