Speaking on the design of the mannequin, Rishi Mehta, VM Manager, Odel, shares, “As a fashion brand, mannequin plays a very important role for us. Keeping this in mind, we have clubbed it along with the theme. The planning, designing, drafting, adapting, sourcing and executing revolve around the mannequin”. Apart from the mannequin display inspired from nature, the product range is focused on global warming and was displayed in the atrium of the store. An 18 feet high mannequin was draped with natural substances picked up from the beach. This was done to enhance the theme. The entire display was given a rustic island look with the use of natural elements like stones, water, wood, etc. LED light was used to render brightness to the natural backdrop. The whole effort to showcase love towards mother Earth was done with the use of props. A pink mannequin was covered with green water or cold drink bottles and bottle caps. The objective was to spread awareness about the harmful effects of littering. A fibre globe was put up with green spray painting on it which accentuated the ‘green’ concept at Odel. To spread the theme across the store, placards and posters were used with headings like “Save our beaches” and “Keep it clean”. Odel is a Sri Lankan born and bred brand. Rishi says, “The complete theme was dedicated to our Private Label Brand - LUV SL- A love for Sri Lanka and things uniquely Sri Lankan which have inspired this top fashion and lifestyle retailer.” Thus innovative and creative ideas along with a wise selection of props, has justified the theme. Simplicity was writ large in the use styles, imagery and colours
