Teekha : a pure veg­e­tar­ian eatery gets added to the gas­tron­omy of Kolkata


Teekha, a pure veg­e­tar­ian eatery got re­cently opened on the first floor of Haldiram’s Food Court at Bal­ly­gunge by Pratik Foods. Spread over an area of 5,500 sq. ft., the place is el­e­gantly dis­trib­uted into var­i­ous cham­bers hav­ing the main cen­tral hall serv­ing ala carte, a pri­vate dining area with a ca­pac­ity of around 150 peo­ple and an­other area serv­ing buf­fet. The restau­rant is fo­cussing on pre­par­ing the dishes with ‘pure ghee’, min­eral wa­ter and au­then­tic ‘masalas’ with a twist for suit­ing dif­fer­ent palate in a pocket friendly bud­get. The decor of the restau­rant has been planned in-house which has a very stylish and grace­ful look and feel with wooden frames and fur­ni­ture’s, and white up­hol­stery. As one en­ters the space, the beau­ti­ful foun­tain wel­comes the guests to a sooth­ing en­vi­ron­ment. The en­tire glass wall gives a great view to the city land­scape. The seat­ing ar­range­ment has been also di­vided into lounge and high deck chairs, com­fort­able so­fas adding a classy feel with ex­treme cosi­ness. The en­tire decor has been com­pleted within 4-5months by the team. Pratik Agar­wal, Direc­tor of Pratik Foods who launched Teekha shares with VM&RD, “With the con­stant evo­lu­tion of eat­ing out cul­ture, East has re­ally boomed in the past cou­ple of years, and al­most ev­ery day new food joints are com­ing up in the city. Teekha per­haps the largest veg-restau­rant of the city in terms of space is cater­ing to a pop­u­la­tion from all age groups who wants to en­joy and ex­plore dif­fer­ent types of veg­e­tar­ian cui­sine and this lo­ca­tion al­ready has a ready cus­tomers who are com­ing to our QSR for­mat in Haldirams Food City. We are also open to ex­pan­sion plans and look­ing for good lo­ca­tions in the ar­eas like Sec­tor V and Ra­jarhat New Town. Within the next five years we want to open 10 such fine dining restau­rants in an around Kolkata.”
