Getting future ready
Hi Friends! New age retailers and brands have integrated customer engagement as an integral part of omni-channel relationships that are being built with customers across all their touch points. This has pushed different disciplines, which have been used to working strictly in their domains, to work together. It’s no more uncommon for architects, store designer, visual merchandisers, digital marketers, animation experts, psychologist and engineers huddling together to deliver unimaginable retail experience to customers in stores. It’s time for those creating retail environments to get used to this new work culture of getting on the same platform. VM&RD has been a pivot for the In-Store Asia 2016 show coming up in New Delhi from 4-6th Aug 2016 and this year the focus has been on ‘Getting Future Ready’. The event brings together the different disciplines of retail experience on one platform to share, learn and network with each other and also with experts from overseas. This issue also carries thoughts from members of the retail service provider community on what the show has set out to achieve and their role in the mission. The cover story features Marks & Spencer’s reimagined imagery in their store created to give customers a premium boutique shopping experience with an intelligent and stunning design concept. The International visual merchandising section features Nike Town demonstrating how the brand’s new ‘Story of Speed’campaign was brought to life with the collaboration of dynamic display and high tech LED lighting and imagery. VM&RD’s five top picks of material innovations give you a glimpse into remarkable innovations that will help retail environment design to be taken to new levels. VM&RD’s ‘Retail Yatra’ stops over in New Delhi, to cover important premium regional retail there and present successful independent retailers who dominate through their differentiated offerings and service. Lots more exciting stories on International and Indian store design and visual merchandising topped off with some humour from the retail world.
