One of the lead­ing stylised oc­ca­sion wear re­tailer in North In­dia, Study By Janak has a legacy of close to three decades in the De­signer Oc­ca­sion Wear & Made to Mea­sure in­dus­try in the coun­try. As a re­cent de­vel­op­ment, SBJ has taken its fash­ion be­yond the ramp by be­ing cho­sen as the Of­fi­cial Styling Part­ner for the In­dian Olympics 2016. As an ex­clu­sive style part­ners, SBJ will be dress­ing the In­dian Olympics con­tin­gent in­clud­ing the fed­er­a­tion of­fi­cials and Sports min­istry of­fi­cials in their stylish at­tires de­signed & fab­ri­cated spe­cially to cre­ate waves when they at­tend the of­fi­cial cer­e­mony at the 2016 sum­mer Olympics.

Started in 1980 by Manoj Mehra, SBJ was ini­tially in men’s eth­nic wear but with grow­ing trends they started de­sign­ing west­ern wear too and started cater­ing to in­ter­na­tional mar­kets also. At present, they serve an elite client base, span­ning across the globe and even make suits for Sav­ile Row & Daks, UK. They have also been as­so­ci­ated with some of the world’s most renowned brands such as 40 Sav­ile Row, Mas­simo Re­bec­chi, PT 01, Sca­bal, Ermenegildo Zegna, Daks Lon­don, Gaudi and Loro Piana, to name a few.

The USP of SBJ as a brand is cus­tomi­sa­tion to the level that the cus­tomer would never choose an­other brand. And that’s how they are dif­fer­en­tia­tors in the mar­ket. As a lux­ury brand, they of­fer prod­ucts and fab­ric that are of in­ter­na­tional level and the pric­ing is com­pet­i­tively low. SBJ is di­vided into four cat­e­gories which in­clude made to or­der, cus­tom suits and jack­ets etc, then its is ready to wear (very lim­ited col­lec­tion), they are also the lead­ers in lux­ury eth­nic wear and the last cat­e­gory is women’s wear. The women lux­ury wears range starts from Rs 50,000 goes upto 6 lakh, the men’s eth­nic wear ranges be­tween Rs 30,000-15 lakhs. Their clien­tele are mostly af­flu­ent and have been as­so­ci­ated with SBJ since years for their ex­cel­lent ser­vice (cus­tomi­sa­tion, per­fec­tion, qual­ity, door step de­liv­ery, home ap­point­ments) and prod­uct. The work­shop of SBJ is lo­cated in Delhi, Gur­gaon, where the best-hand­picked tai­lors and ded­i­cated de­sign­ers work un­der the su­per­vi­sion of Manoj Mehra and his son Ayush Mehra over­looks the whole op­er­a­tions.

All the show­rooms have sim­i­lar kind of in­te­ri­ors and sec­tions. The tiles and the floor­ings are all sourced from In­dia, but the fix­tures are fab­ri­cated from abroad and fur­ni­ture is also im­ported.

There is a wide pres­ence of Study By Janak stores across North In­dia, with five stores in Delhi, NCR and two in Pun­jab and one in Ahmed­abad. There are cou­ple of stores in pipe­line but their up­com­ing stores are open­ing up in Mall of In­dia and Chandi­garh. The brand will also be open­ing show­rooms in some parts of Mid­dle East, USA and Canada.
