Ken Nisch, Chairman - JGA

“The organisation of the entries made it easy to navigate, easily review into “good, better, best” submittals, and facilitate the judging process. I did see that there are some categories that are woefully under-entered, others that are overly-entered, which I think suggests possibly looking at the categories themselves, possibly some of the heavily subscribed categories where there might be a dozen or two dozen entries might respond well to being broken into secondary categories, others possibly either there isn’t a high enough level of interest or work going on that either could be eliminated or aggregated. I believe there is a good sense of global trends, and global standards are well represented, particularly among the larger retail operating groups. Again many of the entries are actually international prototypes and not reflective of any particular effort relative to the Indian marketplace, and of course those represent international trends and benchmarking by default.

I am particularly impressed with the work that is generated within the Indian marketplace or through partnerships in the Indian marketplace, as being important to the Indian design industry vs. the “parachuting” of international concepts into the market with little regard to local creativity or talents.”
