Vishal Kapoor - Chief Design Officer, Future Group

The quality of entries specially in f&b, speciality stores seems to be getting better every year and jury’s role is getting more challenging.

There is often this sense of having to pick three out of so many high quality entries. Global trends can be seen in quite a few high quality designs both in terms of its appeal, visual experience & language and materials. It’s also interesting to see very confident merger of local and global trends in quite a few design outcomes. Over the years we have seen designs not just as architectural expressions of sole architects, but a well integrated user / consumer experience centric holistic model with healthy dose of brand uniqueness in most of them. I feel the judging module should be further curtailed and only the top 6-9 entries should be allowed specially in the final stages. I would like the interaction of the judging module online to be faster and easier. I would stress more on the interaction design and user ease.
