Pep­per­fry bets on vir­tual re­al­ity

Pep­per­fry, In­dia’s lead­ing home in­te­rior fur­nish­ing on­line mar­ket space launched in 2011, re­cently has made shop­ping for cus­tomers a smooth plat­form to walk on by bring­ing in vir­tual re­al­ity tours to its stu­dios in Mum­bai. Vir­tual re­al­ity is an ad­vanced medium that en­ables the cus­tomers to walk through in­store fur­ni­ture and home dé­cor. The two stu­dio cen­ters are based in San­tacruz and Kan­jur­marg and are avail­able for the 3D tour through mo­bile or lap­top or tablets or any such gad­get with­out mov­ing out of the house. Such break through vir­tual ad­vance­ment lets the cus­tomers shop in real en­vi­ron­ment with­out even be­ing in the phys­i­cal store! Speak­ing about this new fea­ture ad­di­tion, Pep­per­fry’s Prod­uct Head, Deepak Sharma said, “Our Stu­dios have been con­ceived as ex­pe­ri­ence cen­ters where we of­fer de­sign in­spi­ra­tions to our cus­tomers. By pro­vid­ing an im­mer­sive panoramic view of these Stu­dios vir­tu­ally, we want cus­tomers to ex­plore mul­ti­ple home de­sign op­tions from any­where, at any point in time.” Their vi­sion ex­tends to 2020 to help around 20 mil­lion cus­tomers beau­tify their liv­ing spa­ces. Their re­cent ap­proach is to set up 20 stu­dios in metro cities of In­dia and make avail­able 3D tours to all of it by 2016 end.

Cus­tomer’s vir­tual nav­i­ga­tion is all at their fin­ger­tips, by sim­ply typ­ing “Stu­dio Pep­per­fry” on Google along with its lo­ca­tion in the city. An op­tion “See In­side” would ap­pear on the right hand side of the page, wherein by click­ing on it, the look of the stu­dio in­side and all the dé­cor would be ac­ces­si­ble! By us­ing the tiny com­pass on the up­per right cor­ner on Google Maps, the lo­ca­tion of the stu­dio cen­ter can be opened and nav­i­gated around by move­ment of the de­vice. VR (Vir­tual Re­al­ity) head­set linked to Google Card­board range / HTC Vive/ Ocu­lus are avail­able to cus­tomers at Pep­per­fry Stu­dios in VR. Just like real time shop­ping, cus­tomers can add what they liked in the wish list or shop­ping cart for the pur­chase.
