Light­ing to­day is one of the key aspects that help cre­ate brand spe­cific dif­fer­en­ti­ated ex­pe­ri­ence in a store. To throw more light on new ap­pli­ca­tions of light­ing in re­tail, VM&RD re­cently or­ga­nized a roundtable break­fast meet at Court­yard by Mar­riott in Gur­gaon, sponsored by light­ing ma­jor Philips Light­ing. Moder­ated by Suren­der Gnanao­livu, Ad­vi­sory Editor, VM&RD and led by Var­dan Sharma, Head of Mar­ket­ing, Re­tail B2B Busi­ness, Philips Light­ing, the event saw gen­er­ous par­tic­i­pa­tions from lead­ing na­tional Fash­ion re­tail­ers, brands and ar­chi­tects based in the city and vicin­ity.

The ses­sion be­gan with few in­ter­est­ing case study video clips that demon­strated how tech­nol­ogy in­te­grated with light­ing to At­tract, En­gage and Con­vert cus­tomers in global mar­kets. The video on Ted Baker il­lus­trated how light­ing helped the brand cre­ate dif­fer­ent moods in the en­vi­ron­ment by in­te­grat­ing with tech­nol­ogy and the in­store mu­sic to of­fer great cus­tomer ser­vice. The Diech­mann video demon­strated how dy­namic win­dow light­ing can help at­tract and con­vert passers-by into in­creased foot­falls. The es­sen­tial theme of the over­all roundtable dis­cus­sion was around the el­e­ments of At­tract, En­gage and Con­vert which is crit­i­cal for new age Fash­ion Re­tail­ers.
