On­line re­tail is cur­rently fu­elling in­vest­ment in phys­i­cal stores in the sec­tor. This is be­cause com­pe­ti­tion from sup­pli­ers on­line means re­tail­ers have to make their stores even more at­trac­tive.

At the same time, the dove­tail­ing of phys­i­cal and on­line stores is gen­er­at­ing new re­tail and in­te­rior de­sign con­cepts. Mod­ern in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy is be­com­ing ever more im­por­tant here.

At EuroShop 2017, lat­est de­vel­op­ments in tech­nol­ogy and in­te­gra­tion with in-store el­e­ments and func­tions such as light­ing, fix­tures, re­frig­er­a­tion, VM, sig­nage and POS among oth­ers took cen­tre stage at the trade fair. The fo­cus was how these new-age tech­nol­ogy could help the brand in sto­ry­telling and cre­at­ing an emo­tional con­nect with their shop­pers.

Sum­ming up his ex­pe­ri­ence at EuroShop t his t i me, Mu­rali Bal­gar, Di­rec­tor Disha Re­tail says, “This time around, the two key words are In­ter­ac­tive and In­te­gra­tion. We wit­nessed a huge head­way in the way light­ing and dig­i­tal tech­nol­ogy was in­te­grated seam­lessly into re­tail fix­tures, where en­hanc­ing the cus­tomer ex­pe­ri­ence was the high­light.”
