Enjoying more than 50% market share in digital signages business for the last 2 years, global market leader Samsung steps up in its digital display portfolio. In conversation with VM&RD, Puneet Sethi, CE-B2B, Samsung India talks about the company’s latest
Give us a lowdown on Samsung’s offerings on visual display solutions.
Under visual display section, we have enterprise solution which has three categories – smart signage, hospitality solutions and LCD monitors. Smart signages, that are widely used in retail environments have several solutions like standalone single panel, video walls, mirror displays, electronic boards, stretch displays etc.
Amongst these products, which are most future-ready for retail stores and why?
The world is tilting towards thinner bezel sizes. Our customizable video walls offer size as thin as 1.7 mm, which is the thinnest in the world. Our Mirror Display solution comes with the most futuristic feature of automation that doubles up as mirror as well as display solution.it runs on automation sensor. On the other hand, our Stretch Display solution is extremely customizable, operational through cloud and can split as multiple screens as per need.
What are the global trends in signage and how much of it is available in India?
The trend is fast changing towards LED. Our both indoor and outdoor line-ups are extremely seamless and comes with brightness as high as 1500 NITs. The market is also shifting towards larger sizes – whether it’s indoor or outdoor. There’s a crucial need to turn static signages into digital ones. The democratization of “phygital’ is in arm’s length, it’s just a matter someone trying the wave first.
Which are the line-ups you are developing further?
Since we are ready with most futuristic solution in digital signage business, the line-up which is keeping us busy is the E-board category. We are adding more products in the category and bringing more interactivity in display solutions.z
