Around the World : This Holiday Season
Holiday windows, 2017 from around the world brings larger-than-life stature of different themes. Some take inspiration from the city itself, some from cinematic experience, some collaborate with iconic brands and some showcase the pure magic of what Chris
British retailer Topshop chose “Wish” as their theme of their holiday window comprising sensor technology and stark communication reading the theme. Topshop worked with two UK-based agencies to execute their windows – Lucky Fox and Blacks Visuals.
Topshop & Topman White City Flagship windows and Oxford Street interiors, executed by Blacks Visual, featured a series of typographical neon plus Christmas ‘Wish’ phrases. Inspired by the magic and anticipation around Christmas, the halo glow of the lights is set against a backdrop of white sheer curtains. An infinite series of ‘Wish’ phrases hanging from the ceiling create the illusion of a 3 dimensional vanishing point while an army of gold glitter embellished mannequins poised on a series of illuminated, coloured purple translucent lit bases created a runway of party ‘season’ inspired key looks for the season. Lucky Fox has worked with Topshop and Topman to transform their flagship London windows into an interactive customer experience to herald in Christmas 2017. Aiming to bring the fun back into Christmas shopping, the interactive installation invited the public to step inside the glass structures within built walkways. Thanks to sensor technology, shoppers entering the glass cubes were met with a chiming soundtrack, a heady pine scent, mannequins and falling snow as if entering a modern day Narnia!
