Woman's Era - - Editorial -

Stephen King is one of the celebrated writers whose novels have stood & served as the base for several successful films! His novel Cycle of the Werewolf was made into a hugely successful film called Silver Bullet (1985) that is still much sought by film lovers! From a Buick 8 produced by Ashok Amritraj through his Hyde Park Entertainment is yet another adaptation of a novel by Stephen King being scripted & directed by William Brent Bell. It is worth noting that the title owes its credit to 1965 Bob Dylan song From a Buick 6! The theme revolves around a 1954 Buick Roadmaster parked inside a police station for nearly 2 decades which turns out to have a malevolent spirit!

Gary Oldman who walked away with an Academy Award as the Best Actor for his breathtaking performance in Darkest Hour plays a crucial role in The Woman in the

Window, a psychological thriller in which Amy Adams plays a woman stuck inside the confines of her New York home! Her favourite pastime is to spy on her neighbours & she becomes a witness to a crime, in the bargain! The film directed by Joe Wright ( Darkest Hour was also wielded by him!) is based on A J Finn’s book by the same name! Hope Gary & Joe rework the magic once again!

Both a star & an actor, Oscar winning performer, Robert Redford has decided to call it quits & bid a goodbye to acting! At 81, Redford who had begun his film career at 21, has reached a point & stage of fulfilment in his colourful innings at filmdom that he has decided to hang his boots! The Californian born actor will be last seen in David Lowery’s The

Old Man & the Gun! He appears as Forrest Tucker, the real life criminal who robbed banks but yet managed to avoid imprisonment! Tucker’s crime kingdom lasted for about 60 years & it is worth noting that Redford had started his career in films in the sixties! Robert Redford bagged an Academy Award as the Best Director for his directorial venture, Ordinary People (1981)! Enough is enough for him, probably!

Though the Australianborn Mel Gibson has proved his credentials as an action hero as well as a characterartist, his directorial ventures lifted him to dizzy heights! But he still does films as an actor if he feels that the roles are right! War Pigs is his latest outing as an actor in which he has joined Colin Farrell, a revenge thriller directed by Tommy Wirkola. The film revolves around a bunch of disappointed ex-marines who set out on one last mission to wreck vengeance on the cartel that brutally killed their colleague & relieved them all of their drug-money! Destroyer, his directorial under production is a film centred on World War 2 based on the book by John Wukovits!

Stephen King gears up for new book.

Gary Oldman to costar with Amy Adams.

Its the final goodbye to Hollywood for Robert.

Mel Gibson is set for in next adventure as a director.
