New Year,

Asia Dreams - - PUBLISHER’S NOTE - LENNY MARLINA TANU

Cheers!

With Christmas and New Year finally behind us, it's time to start looking forward to the year ahead and put our New Year's resolutions into action. Perhaps you promised to sustain a healthier lifestyle, or to indulge in more downtime, or maybe you made a vow to your loved one to spend the rest of your lives together? Here at Exquisite Media, our New Year's resolutions certainly involve indulging, but for those who hear wedding bells on the horizon, we've brought back our beloved wedding edition for you to swoon over.

We've put together our Wedding Bliss cover theme to guide you from the day you decided to get engaged, to all the way down the aisle and beyond. We've chosen our favourite magical destinations around the world to propose (and even where to celebrate afterwards), before rounding up our pick of the dreamiest wedding venues in Asia. And because destination weddings are difficult to choreograph, we've even suggested group leisure outings and activities to keep your wedding party entertained, pre- or post- the big day.

Of course, with a dream wedding must come a dream dress, so for our regular fashion feature we also take a look at the rule-breaking designs of Vera Wang's Spring 2017 bridal wear collection, as well as gorgeous Cartier wedding rings and the latest cosmetics and scents of the season to glam up the bride to superstar status.

The glitz and glamour don't stop there. In our regular Society feature, we reveal the star-studded, cork popping celebrations at our Annual Appreciation Event, held at the dazzling Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort, and the collaborative gentleman's wine dinner at GAIA in Jakarta at Altitude The Plaza, to mark the launch of Bvlgari's brand new and premier Octo Watch.

With so much to celebrate, it seemed only right to indulge at three of Jakarta's hottest dining destinations – SEVENFRIDAY, Bistro Baron and Alto Restaurant and Bar at Four Seasons Jakarta – before kicking back at two of Bali's hottest new venues – Plataran Canggu Bali and Semara Beach House – an all-encompassing events venue with a difference.

To wrap up the edition on a truly high note, we also meet four of today's biggest hospitality players: We meet Sven Fitjer, general manager of The Hermitage; Alila Villas Uluwatu's general manager, Marco Groten; and Franck Loisen, area general manager of Accor Hotels Bali and Lombok, and general manager of Pullman Bali Legian Nirwana, before we embark on the culinary journey of Robert Marchetti, a restauranteur and international businessman taking Bali by storm.

The year may only just be getting started, but this edition proves there's been plenty to look forward to, and as always, plenty to celebrate.
