When Jakarta Meets London – Bringing in the Heritage of The Savoy to the City is an exciting series of events that took place between 24th to 27th August at Fairmont Jakarta featuring the best of the best from The Savoy in London.

Jakarta's fashionist­as and glitterati flocked to events such as the dazzling Be a Bond Girl at K22 Bar, which saw The Savoy's award-winning mixologist, Witek Wojaczek, from the legendary Beaufort Bar keeping the crowd busy with his specially created free-flow cocktails. Serenaded with iconic James Bond songs and music from a pumping DJ, the bestdresse­d Bond Girl won a grand prize from The Savoy, London. Witek also took over Barong Bar on 25th August, presenting signature Beaufort Bar cocktails like the Hanky Panky, while guests received red carpet treatment.

For the more culinary minded, a legendary British afternoon tea, as served in The Savoy's famed Thames Foyer, featured at Peacock Lounge, prepared by Pastry Chef Luc Bigeard from 24th August to 6th September.

Meanwhile, a unique Royal Sunday Brunch took over Spectrum, with The Savoy chefs teaming up with Fairmont Jakarta's team to present a special British menu, including hot smoked trout with horseradis­h, “The Savoy” Prawn and Brown Shrimp Cocktail, various selections of fish and chips, and buttermilk pancakes. The most elegant of the events took place on the evenings of 26th and 27th August at VIEW Restaurant & Bar with the Exquisite British Gourmet Dinner, featuring Executive Sous Chef Francisco Hernandez from The Savoy collaborat­ing with VIEW'S Chef de Cuisine Hans Christian, who presented the best of Britain in a fivecourse wine-paired extravagan­za.
