When the Stars Align
The pursuit of perfection in watchmaking is an inherent part of omega’s DNA. It wasn’t much of a surprise, then, when the brand broke new ground with the introduction of the Globemaster, the world’s first master chronometer-certified timepiece. It has passed eight rigorous standards set by METAS (the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology), which comprise magnetic resistance capabilities against fields of up to 15,000 gauss and retaining its accuracy with low power reserve, among others. This achievement is symbolized by eight stars engraved on the case-back. Befittingly, the timepiece made its debut at Omega’s grand party in Los Angeles on March 1, right after the Academy Awards, where it was also announced that British film star Eddie Redmayne was selected as the face of this record-breaking watch.
