nor­Mal The most com­mon type of chrono­graph with two but­tons: A start/stop but­ton at the top and a se­cond re­set but­ton at the bot­tom.

Mono­pusher The start/stop and re­set func­tions are all mapped to the same but­ton. As such, once stopped, it can only be re­set to zero.

fly­back When the se­cond but­ton is pushed, the sec­onds hand will “fly back” to zero and keep on run­ning. This is use­ful for tim­ing mul­ti­ple laps. rat­tra­pante The most com­pli­cated type of chrono­graph with three but­tons: Start/stop, re­set and a split se­cond but­ton.
