Against the Flow

It would seem that heritage is a major theme at Baselworld 2017. Except at Bulgari, it would seem. The watch brand has apparently continued to move forward with the Octo since the early 2000s, and has now come up with a new, record-breaking innovation: the thinnest automatic movement on the market. The Octo Finissimo Automatic uses the Calibre BVL 138 Finissimo which is a mere 2.23mm in height, and is housed in a sandblasted titanium case with a thickness of only 5.15mm. The hours, minutes and small seconds hands are all in black with PVD coating, and stand in sharp contrast on the titanium dial. All in all, the Octo Finissimo Automatic represents a refreshing step forward at the beginning of 2017.
