TAMBOUR MOON FLYING TOURBILLON “POINÇON DE GENÈVE”
Five years following the acquisition of La Fabrique du Temps, Louis Vuitton showcases its own brand of fine watchmaking. Encased in the new Tambour Moon is the unique flying tourbillon complication certified with the Poinçon de Genève (whose logo is visible between the left screws of the center ring), a hallmark of watchmaking excellence from the respectable Swiss canton of Geneva. Equally unique is the skeletonized dial layout, where the movement looks vertically stacked, leaving plenty of space for the brand logo or perhaps something else (as it is customizable) to be placed at 9 o’clock. And that’s also the strength of this Louis Vuitton fine timepiece: It’s made to order, and, thus, you can add your own ideas to it.
This particular number also stands for Louis Vuitton’s own manufacture in Geneva. The manualwinding movement caliber LV 97 is originally conceived and produced by the brand’s watch artisans. The inimitable baseplate is pretty stunning as seen from the case-back. And every purchase of the watch comes with a dashing solid trunk, adorned with tasteful Louis Vuitton Monogram leather. It’s beautiful on the inside and outside.
